Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking an efficient Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing Operative to deliver street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance services to pre-determined standards and schedules.

You will hold a full driving licence, be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers, and be able to operate related tools and equipment. Weekend work and adherence to CoSHH safety policies are required. The role offers solid benefits under NCC.

Job description

You will provide an efficient and effective street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance service to pre-determined standards and in accordance with predetermined schedules.

• You must be a trained Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing Operative with experience of carrying out vehicle checks and experience in CoSHH safety policies and will have knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to driving.
• You must hold a full driving licence.
• You must have relevant knowledge of the range of tasks together with the operation of associated tools and equipment.
• You will have the strength, dexterity and co-ordination to deal with plant and operate equipment.
• You must be available to work at weekends
