Job summary

Northumberland County Council is recruiting for a full-time Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing Operative based at Lionheart Depot, Alnwick. You will perform street cleansing, grounds maintenance and public convenience tasks to pre-set standards and schedules.

The role requires a full driving licence, CoSHH knowledge, vehicle checks experience and the ability to work outdoors in all weather, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Trained Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing Operative with vehicle checks experience and CoSHH knowledge.
• Full driving licence is required.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used for cleansing and maintenance.
• Physical strength, dexterity and coordination to operate plant and equipment.
• Availability to work weekends.
• Outdoor work in all weathers and traffic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient and effective street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance service to predetermined standards and schedules.

ROLE OF THE JOB

You will provide an efficient and effective street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance service to pre-determined standards and in accordance with predetermined schedules.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

• You must be a trained Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing Operative with experience of carrying out vehicle checks and experience in CoSHH safety policies and will have knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to driving.
• You must hold a full driving licence.
• You must have relevant knowledge of the range of tasks together with the operation of associated tools and equipment.
• You will have the strength, dexterity and co-ordination to deal with plant and operate equipment.
• You must be available to work at weekends
• Working outdoors in all weathers and traffic conditions.
