Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a NEAT Team Operative/Driver for Berwick-upon-Tweed. The role covers street cleansing, public conveniences and grounds maintenance, following predetermined schedules to high standards.

You will operate appropriate tools, perform vehicle checks and adhere to CoSHH safety policies while working on-site at Tweedmouth Depot. The job requires weekend availability, a full driving licence, and knowledge of relevant regulations.

ROLE OF THE JOB

You will provide an efficient and effective street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance service to pre-determined standards and in accordance with predetermined schedules.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

• You must be a trained Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing Operative with experience of carrying out vehicle checks and experience in CoSHH safety policies and will have knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to driving.
• You must hold a full driving licence.
• You must have relevant knowledge of the range of tasks together with the operation of associated tools and equipment.
• You will have the strength, dexterity and co-ordination to deal with plant and operate equipment.
• You must be available to work at weekends
• Working outdoors in all weathers and traffic conditions.
