Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer for the Independent Assurance & Regulation team based in the UK. You will support the Ministry of Defence's submarine programme with electrical systems expertise across in-service, manufacturing, and life-extension activities to ensure safety, compliance and future readiness.

The role emphasizes collaborative delivery, risk-based safety case development, and mentoring early-career engineers within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Technical competence in electrical systems engineering demonstrated by a relevant Engineering or Scientific Degree.
• Experience with electrical systems used in safety or mission-critical applications such as nuclear or aerospace.
• Strong awareness of engineering risk, safety and quality requirements with clear communication of findings.
• Ability to work autonomously and across tasks while engaging stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical systems engineering support and technical advice to delivery teams.
• Advise MOD on management, production, control and approval of naval electrical safety documentation.
• Communicate requirements, constraints and solutions clearly to stakeholders.
• Mentor graduate and early-career engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing.
