Job summary

Amentum in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join the Independent Assurance & Regulation team in Bristol. You will support MOD submarine programmes, applying electrical systems know-how across in-service, manufacturing and life‑extension activities.

You’ll assess safety, risk and quality arguments, work with cross-disciplinary teams, and mentor graduates where appropriate, while contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in a demanding engineering

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering or scientific degree.
• Experience with electrical systems in safety/mission-critical contexts (nuclear/aerospace).
• Ability to assess complex safety arguments and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously across multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical systems engineering support and technical advice for IA&R.
• Advise MOD on electrical safety case and engineering documentation.
• Contribute to safety campaigns with internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent the team in project and safety meetings.
