Job summary

Amentum in the United Kingdom is recruiting a Nuclear Technical Engineer to deliver independent assurance services for the MoD’s naval propulsion programme. You will provide safety and technical advice across submarine reactor plants, coordinating across multiple disciplines in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

The role requires a degree in science or engineering, clear communication skills, and the ability to obtain UK security clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in science or engineering (Level 6 minimum).
• Clear, concise technical writing and communication skills.
• Security clearance is required or obtainable in the UK.
• Familiarity with naval reactor documentation and related safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative safety and technical assessments for the MoD.
• Support meetings with the MoD and contractors.
• Coordinate outputs across technical disciplines.
• Work to safety, technical, and regulatory standards within programme budgets.
• Promote health, safety, environment and security in all activities.
