Job summary

phs Besafe is seeking an Operations Director to lead national laundry and service operations. The role drives operational excellence, productivity, and customer service while guiding major capital investments and capability development across the network.

The ideal candidate combines senior leadership experience in industrial laundry/workwear with a track record of managing multiple sites, budgeting, and delivering efficiency gains. Travel to Tipton, Kempston and Wickford is expected.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in industrial laundry, textile rental or workwear.
• Proven experience managing multiple operational sites and large facilities.
• Strong technical knowledge of laundry operations and textile processing.
• Experience delivering operational improvement, productivity and capacity planning.
• Strong commercial awareness with budgets and costs.
• CapEx planning, business case development and project delivery.
• Track record of leading high-performing operational teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience working with customers to drive service excellence.
• Strong Health & Safety and compliance knowledge.
• Desirable experience in design/build/expansion of industrial facilities.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement qualifications.
• Willingness to travel nationally to Tipton, Kempston and Wickford.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational strategy to support growth, retention and profitability.
• Drive performance, productivity and continuous improvement across sites.
• Act as technical lead for laundry operations and standards.
• Oversee major capital investment projects and equipment installations.
• Optimize service delivery, labour use and production planning.
• Develop and mentor high-performing teams with a culture of safety.
