Job summary

Adapt Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Installation Manager to oversee pipework, access steelwork and mechanical plant installations across multiple sites in the UK. Based in South Yorkshire, the role leads project teams, ensuring on-time, safe delivery while supporting hands-on work when required.

The successful candidate will manage RAMS, site audits, procurement and logistics, travel nationwide and liaise with clients.

Qualifications

• Leadership and strong communication to manage on-site teams.
• Experience in mechanical installations and piping systems.
• Ability to plan, schedule and deliver installations to deadlines.
• Experience producing and reviewing RAMS and ensuring compliance.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Attend client sites across the UK to oversee installation activities and act as main site contact.
• Lead installation teams and build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare, review and issue RAMS for works on site.
• Ensure works follow procedures, standards and client requirements; conduct audits.
• Maintain health, safety, environmental and quality compliance on all sites.
• Plan and schedule installation activities across multiple sites; address delays early.
• Organise labour, plant, equipment and materials to keep sites productive.
• Manage procurement and site deliveries; monitor stock levels.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams for resources.
• Support project teams with programme management and resource planning.
• Provide regular updates to Project Managers on progress, risks and opportunities.
• Complete site reports, documentation and records on time.
