Working on behalf of our client, we are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Installation Manager to join a specialist fabrication and mechanical installation contractor that works mainly in the clean and wastewater utilities sector. Based out of the South Yorkshire office and working on client sites nationwide, the successful candidate will support the Project Managers and Project Engineers and oversee the safe, on-time delivery of pipework, access steelwork and mechanical equipment installations across multiple sites. This is mainly an off-the-tools leadership role, but you will need to be willing to support site teams hands-on when required.
Key Duties
- Attend client sites across the UK to oversee installation activities, acting as the main site contact between project teams, site personnel and client representatives.
- Lead and guide installation teams, and build positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Prepare, review and issue Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Make sure all works follow company procedures, industry standards and client requirements, and carry out regular site audits and compliance inspections.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance on all sites.
- Plan and schedule installation activities across multiple sites, and deal with potential delays or issues early.
- Organise labour, plant, equipment and materials to keep sites productive.
- Manage material procurement and site deliveries, and monitor stock levels to minimise downtime.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams so that resources are available when needed.
- Support project teams with programme management and resource planning.
- Give regular updates to Project Managers on site progress, risks and opportunities, and help resolve technical and operational problems.
- Complete site reports, documentation and records accurately and on time.
