Job summary

Vantage Recruitment in Heathrow is seeking a National Business Development Manager in Freight Forwarding to identify and win profitable new business across the UK, coordinating with Heathrow operations, regional customer service, and an international network to deliver tailored freight solutions.

You will manage the full sales process from prospecting through proposals and negotiations, building lasting relationships with procurement and logistics leaders, and traveling nationwide to grow

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in freight forwarding sales.
• Sound understanding of international air/sea freight import/export.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into tailored freight solutions.
• Strong prospecting, relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Commercial awareness including pricing, margins and gross profit.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage prospective customers for international freight forwarding.
• Develop a structured sales plan aligned with UK growth objectives.
• Generate opportunities via outreach, referrals, networking and customer visits.
• Maintain a qualified sales pipeline from enquiry to conversion.
• Understand customers’ shipping volumes, trade lanes and service requirements.
• Present tailored solutions to demonstrate commercial and service benefits.
