Job summary

Hudson Shribman is seeking an experienced Lead Business Development Manager to lead a national team and drive specification-led growth across the UK from an onsite West Midlands base.

The role focuses on developing relationships with major contractors, consultants, end users and industry stakeholders, turning opportunities into sustainable sales growth in the electricals market. Senior leadership and strategic curve are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong BD background in the electricals field.
• Proven experience leading and developing a field-based sales team.
• Strong track record of delivering profitable sales growth.
• Experience selling through contractors, consultants, specifiers and/or distribution channels.
• Good knowledge of the UK electrical wholesale and contractor markets.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development Leadership
• Lead, coach and develop a national team of 8 Business Development Managers
• Create and deliver the national business development and specification strategy
• Set and deliver sales, pipeline and specification targets; build a strong, qualified pipeline of national opportunities
• Monitor forecasting, conversion and commercial performance
• Increase product specification and market penetration
• Develop relationships with major UK electrical contractors, consultants, specifiers and end users
• Identify new project and market opportunities
• Drive demand through early-stage specification activity
• Ensure specified opportunities progress through to successful sales
• Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers across national accounts
• Work closely with contractors, consultants, distributors and end users
• Represent the business at customer and industry meetings
• Develop a high-performing, customer-focused Business Development team
• Coach and motivate team members to achieve their objectives
• Drive continuous improvement across sales and business development activity
