Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is seeking a commercially focused Business Development Manager to join the Municipal Collections team in the UK. You will lead tenders from concept to submission, develop pricing and proposals, and present compelling solutions to clients.

You will identify new opportunities, nurture relationships with clients and partners, and stay ahead of market developments to drive growth across contracts and services.

Qualifications

• Experience in tendering, bidding, pricing or business development with high-quality submissions.
• Strong commercial awareness; able to develop pricing, proposals and solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; confident presenting to clients.
• Highly organized with strong project management; manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; collaborate across internal teams and external partners.
• Understand waste industry or municipal services; keep up to date with developments.
• Willingness to travel and flex to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage tender opportunities from development through submission, including solutions, pricing, proposals and presentations.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across Municipal Collections, while growing existing contracts.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants, partners, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to support BD.
• Develop compelling bid content and presentations, assembling cross-functional input to create strong customer-focused solutions.
• Stay ahead of industry developments, including legislation and technology, to identify opportunities to enhance services.
• Provide commercial and contractual support to regional teams for proposals, variations and growth.
• Collaborate across the business to support strategic projects and the overall growth plan.
