Job summary

Biffa Waste Services in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled Bid Writer to help win and deliver high-quality public sector contracts. You’ll be part of the Municipal Business Development Team, focused on bid quality, compliance, and clear value delivery.

You will own statements, coordinate submissions, maintain compliance matrices, collaborate across Fleet, HR, IT, Procurement, and regional managers, and help improve bid templates and content libraries to strengthen future bids.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education (or equivalent) with proven experience in bid writing, tendering, or pricing.
• Excellent written communication, numeracy, and attention to detail, producing clear, high-quality submissions.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of allocated Method Statements and Quality submissions, ensuring content is accurate, compelling and aligned with client specifications and bid requirements.
• Work with the Business Development Manager across the full bid lifecycle, developing, writing and coordinating high-quality Quality submissions with deadlines met.
• Create and maintain compliance matrices to track progress of submissions and address client requirements.
• Produce internal bid reports and documentation, including progress updates and approval papers for committees.
• Build relationships across Fleet, HR, IT, Procurement, Regional and Business Managers to gather information and strengthen future bids.
• Maintain libraries of model answers and case studies and improve bid templates and content.
