Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for Rye Meads STW. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical and electrical plant with supervision, ensuring site operability and safety.

The role offers 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at Rye Meads with PPE, tools, a company van and fuel card provided. A time-served apprenticeship and appropriate electrical/mechanical qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical systems and multi-skilled maintenance is essential.
• Health and safety awareness is crucial for site work.
• Ability to fault diagnose, test, install or repair mechanical and electrical plant.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs to minimise process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training support to trainees when required.
• Work on equipment such as pumps, 3‑phase motors, VSDs, control gear and related systems.
