Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for Fobney (Reading) WTW. You’ll use your mechanical and electrical expertise to inspect, maintain, diagnose faults, test, install, modify or repair plant and equipment with minimal supervision, ensuring sites stay operational for customers.

• Must have completed electrical apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• Qualified with ONC/HNC in engineering and electrical qualifications.
• Up-skilling in mechanical NVQ2/3 is crucial for dual-skilled capability.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigate plant failures and carry out rapid repairs to minimise downtime.
• Provide technical advice and support for trainees when required.
• Operate and maintain pumps, control gear, motors, PLCs and VSDs.
