Job summary

McBride in Manchester is seeking a proactive, self-motivated Maintenance Engineer to join the cross-functional site team on a day shift. You will provide a 24/7 reactive and proactive engineering service to the Middleton production site, ensuring assets perform at maximum speeds with minimal interruptions.

The role focuses on root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, safe operation, and collaboration with contractors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience on high-volume automated production machinery.
• Time served apprenticeship or HNC/ONC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Read electrical and mechanical drawings; fault finding and PLC knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned reliability maintenance inspections and tasks to a high standard.
• Perform reactive maintenance and fault finding to provide timely fixes.
• Apply safety procedures and risk assessments; support safety audits and safe systems of work.
• Utilise CMMS to plan work, requisition parts and record results.
• Engage with contractors on RM projects and new asset commissioning.
