Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer for a heavy engineering site in Dudley. You will maintain production equipment, carry out planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, PLC fault-finding experience, and strong hands-on electrical and mechanical skills. Competitive salary £40,000–£47,000 plus benefits and overtime available.

Qualifications

• Minimum maintenance engineering experience in heavy engineering or manufacturing.
• Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• PLC fault-finding experience required.
• Strong hands-on electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance across production equipment and site services in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Complete planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults using schematics and technical drawings.
• Undertake mechanical fault finding and repairs using engineering documentation.
• Support PLC diagnostics and assist with installation, commissioning, and equipment modifications.

Shifts: Double days – 6am-2pm / 2pm-12am (Monday-Thursday)

Company Overview:

A well-established UK-based heavy engineering manufacturer in Dudley is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join its expanding engineering team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Carry out maintenance across a range of production equipment and site services within a heavy manufacturing environment is essential
• Complete planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults using schematics and technical drawings
• Undertake mechanical fault finding and repairs using engineering documentation
• Support PLC diagnostics and assist with installation, commissioning, and equipment modifications

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Maintenance engineering experience within heavy engineering or manufacturing environments
• Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
