Job summary

Hunter Selection are recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing operation in Telford. You will maintain production equipment, support performance, and drive improvements across the site.

The role offers a permanent, full-time contract, a 3-shift rotation Monday to Friday, and a competitive salary of £49,516 per annum. You will work in a modern production environment with a focus on reliability, safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A recognised Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ3, HNC, or equivalent).
• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with PLC-controlled machinery and automated equipment.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics and control systems.
• Proactive maintenance mindset and continuous improvement focus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across equipment and site services.
• Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Support improvements to improve machine reliability and OEE.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of machinery.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to meet objectives.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and highly automated manufacturing operation based in Telford. As a key member of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, supporting operational performance, and driving improvements across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across manufacturing equipment and site services.


• Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.


• Diagnose and repair both electrical and mechanical faults.


• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving machine reliability and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).


• Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.


• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.


• Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.


• Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to support operational objectives.

About You

• A recognised Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).


• Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.


• Strong fault-finding skills across both electrical and mechanical systems.


• Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery and automated equipment.
