Job summary

White Recruitment Construction is seeking an experienced Multimodal Freight Coordinator to join our Coleshill-based operations team. The role focuses initially on Ocean Freight with potential growth into Air and Road freight, managing shipments end-to-end and delivering exceptional service across international import/export operations.

You will liaise with customers, hauliers, and brokers, handle documentation, and support continuous improvement within a busy logistics environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures and customs documentation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage Ocean Freight shipments from booking to delivery.
• Handle customer enquiries, quotations and shipment bookings.
• Liaise with customers, hauliers, customs brokers and internal departments.
• Ensure documentation and customs procedures are completed accurately.
• Monitor shipments and proactively update customers throughout the process.
• Support import and export operations across multimodal freight services.
• Assist with claims handling and problem resolution.

Multimodal Freight Coordinator

A well-established and growing global logistics business is currently seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join its expanding operations team based in the Coleshill area.

The role will initially focus on Ocean Freight operations, with future development into Air and Road Freight.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing shipments from start to finish, building strong customer relationships, and delivering exceptional service across international import and export operations.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing Ocean Freight shipments from booking through to final delivery
• Handling customer enquiries, quotations, and shipment bookings
• Liaising with customers, hauliers, customs brokers, and internal departments
• Ensuring shipment documentation and customs procedures are completed accurately
• Monitoring shipments and proactively updating customers throughout the process
• Supporting import and export operations across multimodal freight services
• Maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency
• Assisting with claims handling and problem resolution where required
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects

This is a varied and hands-on role within a busy logistics environment where no two days are the same.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience within freight forwarding or logistics operations
• Good understanding of import/export procedures and customs documentation
• Experience handling Ocean Freight operations (Air and Road knowledge beneficial)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications
• A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
