Job summary

Sanctuary Group in the Midlands and Shropshire areas is seeking a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Operations Response team. You will carry out repairs to occupied properties, from leaks to doors, and undertake external tasks such as fencing and groundworks.

A company van and power tools are provided, and you will work on lone and team basis with an emergency call-out rota. The role requires NVQ Level 2 in a core subject or active study, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in a core subject such as carpentry or electrical, or currently undertaking it.
• Plumbing Level 3 may be required, plus Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS).
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation.
• Full UK driving licence required for company vehicle use.

Responsibilities

• Attend occupied properties to carry out routine repairs, fault fixing and maintenance duties within social housing.
• Resolve issues or initiate resolution, keeping customers informed of progress.
• Maintain van stock levels and restock as needed.
• Provide accurate, timely updates on work progress in an understandable way.
• Provide out-of-hours cover via a call-out rota.

£35,579 - £37,452 per year

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Operations Response team based in the Midlands and Shropshire areas. Covering sites across the Midlands you will be responsible for carrying out repairs to occupied properties, ranging from a leaking tap to changing baths, changing a door handle to hanging a new door. The team also carry out external repairs including fencing and groundworks and vinyl floor laying.

The role will include lone and team working, and you will also be required to be on an emergency call out rota. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use along with training as and when needed.

The role of Multi-Trade Operativewill include:

• Attending occupied properties to carry out routine repairs, fault fixing and maintenance duties within Social Housing
• Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking these when needed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
• Providing out of hours cover via a call out rota

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Skills in some of the following disciplines – Plumbing, Carpentry and Joinery, kitchen and bathroom installations, UPVC door and window fitting
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to priorities workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
