Job summary

Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited, a subsidiary of Sanctuary Housing Association, invites applications for a Multi-Trade Operative in Milton Keynes. You will carry out reactive repairs to occupied properties across the area, from fixing leaks to replacing doors, and joinery, with a company van and power tools provided.

The role includes lone and team working, an emergency call-out rota, and a strong focus on safety and customer communication.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be qualified to or currently undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry or electrical).
• Plumbing Level 3 (if required) must include Unvented G3 Certificate and WRAS certification.
• Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted; original certification required at interview.

Responsibilities

• Attend occupied properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties within Social Housing
• Resolve problems or initiate resolution, keeping customers informed
• Maintain van stock levels and restock as needed
• Provide accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
• Provide out-of-hours cover via a call out rota

£37,358 - £39,324 per year

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 16:30pm

We are looking for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Operations Response team based in Milton Keynes. Covering sites across the area you will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to occupied properties, ranging from a leaking tap to changing baths, changing a door handle to hanging a new door. The team also carry out external repairs including fencing and groundworks.

The role will include lone and team working, and you will also be required to be on an emergency call out rota. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use along with training as and when needed.

The role of Multi-Trade Operativewill include:

• Attending occupied properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties within Social Housing
• Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking when needed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
• Providing out of hours cover via a call out rota

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted

• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks

• Additional skills in some of the following disciplines - plumbing, carpentry and plastering

• Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations
