Job summary

gap technical is recruiting a Site Services Engineer for their Reading area site. The role involves hands‑on site services and facilities maintenance to keep the site safe and operational, with responsibilities spanning electrical, plumbing, installations and general site improvements.

We're seeking a practical, proactive engineer who can work independently yet contribute to a small team. Flexible hours apply, with a rota for weekend work and a supporting, hands‑on environment near Reading.

Qualifications

• Experience in site services, facilities maintenance, building maintenance or multi‑skilled engineering roles.
• Possesses an 18th Edition electrical qualification.
• Good electrical maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with minor plumbing and general building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Complete general electrical maintenance and minor electrical works.
• Undertake minor plumbing and building maintenance.
• Carry out installations and repairs across the site.
• Support with soft furnishings, fixtures, fittings and general site improvements.
• Respond to day‑to‑day maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.
• Help ensure the site remains safe, functional and operational at all times.
• Work closely with the existing Site Engineering team and wider site personnel.
• Support contractors and external suppliers where required.
• Identify potential issues and carry out preventative maintenance wherever possible.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with relevant legislation and company procedures.
