Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd. in Reading area is seeking a hands-on Site Services Engineer to maintain and improve day-to-day site operations across electrical, plumbing and building maintenance tasks.

You will join an established engineering team, contributing to safety and reliability while handling a variety of site service duties with flexible shifts and a weekend rota.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have experience in site services, facilities maintenance, building maintenance or a multi-skilled engineering role.
• Recognised 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification.

Responsibilities

Site Services Engineer

Location: Reading Area

Salary: Up to £43,000

Hours: Flexible - 6am-2pm or 8am-4pm

Weekend Work: Required on a rota basis

We are currently recruiting for a Site Services Engineer to join an established engineering team at their site near Reading.

This is a varied, hands-on site services and facilities maintenance role, responsible for keeping the site safe, operational and well maintained across all aspects of the day-to-day environment.

You’ll work alongside other engineers providing additional support across electrical, plumbing, installations, general maintenance and other site services requirements.

The Role

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Completing general electrical maintenance and minor electrical works.
• Undertaking minor plumbing and building maintenance.
• Carrying out installations and repairs across the site.
• Supporting with soft furnishings, fixtures, fittings and general site improvements.
• Responding to day-to-day maintenance requests and resolving issues promptly.
• Helping ensure the site remains safe, functional and operational at all times.
• Working closely with the existing Site Engineering team and wider site personnel.
• Supporting contractors and external suppliers where required.
• Identifying potential issues and carrying out preventative maintenance wherever possible.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant legislation and company procedures.

About You

We're looking for a practical, versatile and proactive engineer who enjoys a varied role and is comfortable turning their hand to different site maintenance requirements.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in site services, facilities maintenance, building maintenance or a multi-skilled engineering role.
• A recognised 18th Edition qualification.
• Good electrical maintenance knowledge.
• Experience with minor plumbing, installations and general building maintenance.
• A practical approach with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a small engineering team.
• A flexible approach to working hours and the willingness to work weekends on a rota basis.
