Job summary

Great Places Housing Group is seeking a skilled plumber to deliver high-quality repairs across domestic properties in Manchester. You will work 39 hours per week, with out-of-hours cover as per rota and paid overtime opportunities.

Applicants should hold an NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent) and a full UK driving licence. A customer-focused approach and strong safety mindset are essential to maintain service standards and safeguard residents.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high-quality plumbing repairs service across domestic properties, including bathrooms, sinks, taps and drainage systems.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality, productivity and safety.
  • Attending and completing all required training, toolbox talks, and e-learning modules.
  • Communicating professionally and empathetically with customers, colleagues, and local stakeholders.
  • Carrying out work safely and professionally, ensuring customers’ homes are left clean and secure.
  • Using PDA/mobile technology to receive, update, and manage repair jobs efficiently.

Job description

Salary: £35,733

Location: Manchester

Working pattern: 39 hours per week – 8:00am–4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am–3:30pm Friday, out of hours cover in line with rota with an out of hours payment, paid overtime opportunities available (subject to business need)

Key essentials: Full UK manual driving licence, NVQ level 2 in plumbing or equivalent

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Deliver a high-quality plumbing repairs service across domestic properties, including bathrooms, sinks, taps and drainage systems
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality, productivity and safety
  • Attending and completing all required training, toolbox talks, and e-learning modules
  • Communicating professionally and empathetically with customers, colleagues, and local stakeholders
  • Carrying out work safely and professionally, ensuring customers’ homes are left clean and secure
  • Using PDA/mobile technology to receive, update, and manage repair jobs efficiently
  • Producing accurate records, including before-and-after photographs and detailed job notes
What You’ll Need

For the purposes of our van fleet insurance you must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience with a full UK driving licence, be over the age of 21 and complete an on-line driver monitoring Assessment prior to starting your role. If you are under 21 but with 2 years driving experience with a full UK driving licence you would be required to complete an on-line driver monitoring assessment and additional in vehicle assessment prior to starting your role funded by Great Places.
