Job summary

Lincolnshire Housing Partnership in the United Kingdom is seeking a Multi-skilled Operative with strong joinery skills and basic plastering experience. You will join the Repairs Team responsible for domestic home repairs, offering stability and the chance to make a real difference in residents’ lives.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in joinery is essential.
  • Experience in plastering.
  • Experience in other trades is desirable (tiling, painting & decorating, plumbing, carpentry, glazing, drainage and external works).
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in repairs of domestic properties.
  • Awareness of health and safety considerations within a domestic property (asbestos, working around customers, working at heights & electrics).
  • Ability to use PDA/iPad and other electronic communication devices.
  • Ability to interpret a job description from handheld device and carry out tasks timely.
  • Must have a full valid, clean driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain van stock and ensure you have the right tools and equipment, always putting the customer first.
  • Respond to reactive repair requests, diagnosing and resolving issues.
  • Carry out joinery repairs in homes (doors, skirting boards, architraves, kitchen units, flooring and stair components).
  • Remove damaged plaster, patch plastering and repairs to ceilings or walls.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, using PPE, dust sheets and overshoes to protect the property.
  • Carry out dynamic risk assessments on-site and report unsafe conditions.
  • Communicate with planning team through housing management system to keep customers informed.
  • Undertake other repairs involving plastering, brickwork and other general building tasks as required.
  • Participate in Out of Hours call-out rota for emergency repairs.

Salary: £34,809.00 (Plus standby and call out payments)

Hours:Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (Plus call out rota)

What will a typical week look like?

A typical week could be as follows

  • You’ll start the day by being responsible for maintaining your van stock and ensure you have the right tools and equipment to work safely, always putting the customer first.
  • You’ll respond to reactive repair requests, diagnosing and resolving issues.
  • You’ll carry out a range of Joinery repairs in our homes, including replacing doors, skirting boards and architraves, kitchen units, flooring and stair components.
  • You’ll remove damaged or loose plaster, patch plastering and repairs to celings or walls.
  • You’ll ensure all work is completed safely, using appropriate PPE, dust sheets, and overshoes to protect the property and show respect to the customer.
  • You’ll carry out dynamic risk assessments on-site and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Communicate with the planning team through our housing management system around the status of a job, ensuring records are accurate and customers stay well-informed throughout the process.
  • Undertake other repairs involving plastering, brickwork, and other general building tasks as required.
  • You’ll be part of ourOut of Hours call-out rotafor emergency repairs
What Skills and Experience will you need?

  • The ability to communicate on regular basis with team leaders and planners to ensure work is carried out and completed to the highest possible standard
  • Must have a full valid, clean driving license
