Job summary

Multi Skilled Operative role at Tarmac Torcoed Quarry and Asphalt Plant, Porthyrhyd near Carmarthen, South Wales. The position involves operating heavy mobile plant, delivering quality materials on time, and supporting production targets while upholding safety standards.

Applicants should be adaptable, possess good communication skills, and be willing to develop both operative and supervisory abilities. A shovel licence is desirable, and a full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Industrial, Factory or similar environment as an operative or labourer.
• Good communication skills and desire to develop operative and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of Plant with experience in quarry or mobile Plant including loading shovel excavator and quarry trucks.
• Shovel licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customers receive quality material and on-time deliveries.
• Operate heavy mobile plant including excavators, dump trucks and front end loaders.
• Assist the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets.
• Ensure Plant safety and environmental compliance at all times.
• Conduct inspections on the Plant and address defects with remedial action.
• Assist in the maintenance regime of the Plant.
• Maximise Plant availability.
• Maintain high standards of site housekeeping.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environmental policies.

Job description

• Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveries
• Operating heavy mobile plant, excavators, dump trucks and front end loaders
• Assisting the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
• Ensuring Plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
• Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
• Following Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
• Inspections on the Plant and acting on defects and implement remedial action
• Assisting in the maintenance regime of the Plant
• Ensuring that Plant availability is maximised
• Working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standard

Knowledge of Plant and ideally possess previous working experience in quarry or mobile Plant including loading shovel excavator and Quarry trucks.

  Multi Skilled Operative to join our amazing team at our Tarmac Torcoed Quarry and Asphalt Plant in Porthyrhyd near Carmarthen, South Wales. As well as Porthyrhyd and Carmarthen this site is accessible from Llanelli, Gorslas, Ammanford, Gorseinon, Swansea, Morriston, Neath, Ystradgynlais, Port Talbot, Lampeter, Newcastle Emlyn, St Clears, Haverfordwest, Narberth, Tenby and the surrounding areas.
