English Provender Company Ltd. is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for our Thatcham site in Berkshire.

You will join a busy engineering team, covering electrical and mechanical maintenance, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance on automated lines, bottling equipment and processing systems. The role offers a 40-hour week with days and nights shifts on a 12-hour rotation, along with a strong benefits package and development opportunities within a growing food manufacturing

Qualifications

Multi-skilled maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Engineering qualification – City & Guilds or equivalent.
Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repair expertise.

Responsibilities

Perform general and electrical/mechanical maintenance across production equipment.
Respond to breakdowns and perform planned preventative maintenance.
Install, commission and modify equipment as required.

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Thatcham, Berkshire Salary: £52000 Shift: Continentals days and nights - 12 hours 6-6 Job Role of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business with a strong reputation across the UK retail and catering sectors. This fast-paced production site manufactures mayonnaise, pasta sauces, chutneys, salad dressings and pastes for major retailers including Tesco, Lidl, Asda and Morrisons. The business has invested heavily into its manufacturing operation, operating multiple bottling lines, cooking vessels and automated production equipment. This role is ideal for an engineer looking to work within a busy and supportive engineering team where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for both electrical and mechanical maintenance, responding to breakdowns, completing planned preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across site machinery.

Experience with motors, drives and automated production machinery
Previous experience working within the UK manufacturing sector

Duties of the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

General maintenance across all manufacturing equipment
Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance routines
Installation and commissioning of new equipment
Supporting project work and continuous improvement activities
Maintaining engineering workshop equipment and services
Conducting regular factory inspections and reporting defects
Training production staff on equipment operation and basic maintenance
Maintaining maintenance records and engineering documentation using CMMS systems
