Job summary

ATA Recruitment is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer in Devizes to help maintain processing and packaging equipment within a large UK group. You will work in a collaborative engineering team with training and career progression opportunities.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding, experience with 3-phase systems, and a proactive, team-oriented approach to maintain reliability and performance across site equipment.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification Level 3 or above (Electrical or Mechanical or Mechatronics or Multiskilled).
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
• Proactive approach with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to equipment breakdowns and fault finding.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Work on 3-phase systems, motors, sensors and control equipment as well as bearings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, belts, chains, drives etc.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Support operational teams with machinery changeovers, set-ups and adjustments.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and engineering documentation.
• Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are available, safe and well maintained.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of a wide range of processing and packaging equipment, as well as, but not limiting to;

• Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out fault finding


• Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM)


• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults


• Working on 3-phase systems, motors, sensors and control equipment as well as bearings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, belts, chains, drives etc


• Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects

The Candidate

We’re looking for Maintenance Engineer who enjoys working within a collaborative maintenance environment and is keen to develop their skills.

Essential Requirements:

• Engineering qualification at Level 3 or above (Electrical or Mechanical or Mechatronics or Multiskilled)


• Previous maintenance engineering experience within an FMCG Manufacturing, Food and Beverage, Production or Industrial environment


• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills with a focus on root cause analysis


• PLC experience (advantageous but not essential)


• Proactive approach with excellent communication and problem-solving skills


• The ability to work independently and as part of a team and as part of a team
