Job summary

The Collective Network is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in Cambridgeshire. The role operates on a Monday–Friday shift with no nights or weekends, offering up to £50,000 and a strong focus on work-life balance within a food/FMCG manufacturing setting.

You will perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding, run planned maintenance, drive continuous improvement, and partner with production to enhance machine reliability and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled maintenance engineer with electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.
• Experience in food, FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Strong hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge and production machinery familiarity.
• Engineering qualification such as NVQ3 or apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns and restore production quickly.
• Fault find electrically and mechanically across plant equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with production to maximise machine performance and maintain food safety.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently while supporting the site's drive for higher reliability and performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Responding to breakdowns and restoring production quickly
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding across manufacturing equipment
• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability
• Working closely with production to maximise machine performance
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety

What We're Looking For

• Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with both electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability
• Previous experience within Food, FMCG or another fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and production machinery
• Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or equivalent preferred)
• A proactive engineer who enjoys problem solving and making lasting improvements
