Job summary

KPI-Recruiting-Ltd is seeking a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a fast-paced FMCG facility in Merseyside. The role focuses on delivering site-wide maintenance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

You will perform PPM across equipment, respond to breakdowns, and support projects and continuous improvement while maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with time-served status.
• Experience in a food/FMCG manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault-finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime.
• Support site engineering projects, upgrades and continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain electrical and mechanical systems across the production site.
• Work with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure all work complies with site health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and shift handovers.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for delivering site-wide maintenance support, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer your duties are:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of equipment
• Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimize production downtime
• Support site engineering projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities
• Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems across the production site
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with site health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and shift handovers

Skills & Experience needed for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

• Time-served engineer with a recognised mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a food, FMCG, or similar fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to work independently on nights and manage priorities efficiently
• Excellent understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing setting
• Experience with PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.)
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety
