Job summary

The Sterling Choice is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a food manufacturing site. You will contribute to maintaining production efficiency, conducting proactive and reactive maintenance, and supporting projects within a structured department.

The role involves a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern, offering extended time off between rotations and opportunities to implement improvements across mechanical and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Time-served / recognised apprenticeship (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering subject.
• Experience working in a multi-skilled role across mechanical and electrical engineering.
• Ability to work at a fast pace in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Proactive maintenance and site PMs.
• Reactive maintenance and responding to breakdowns quickly.
• Working across both electrical and mechanical faults and maintenance.
• Working on engineering projects (e.g., commissioning, installations, relocations).
• Identifying and implementing improvements covering both processes and machine output.
• Adhering to site Health & Safety rules and legislation on site.

Overview - Maintenance Engineer

A leading manufacturer is looking to hire a maintenance engineer and is ready to onboard immediately. As a maintenance engineer, you will be joining a structured department where you will ensure the factory is running up to speed and production levels are maintained.
