Job summary

Pioneer-Selection-Ltd is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a fast-paced food manufacturing site in Middlesbrough. You’ll focus on reactive maintenance, fault finding and small engineering improvements across production equipment.

The role involves installations, site maintenance, and collaborating with production to maximise line uptime. Non-negotiables include Level 3 engineering qualification and PLC fault-finding ability; 18th Edition is desirable.

Qualifications

• Multi-Skilled Maintenance experience.
• Engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent).
• Previous manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Basic PLC fault-finding knowledge (Inputs/Outputs).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
Shift: 4 on 3 off (Sunday cover required) | Flexible hours between 06:00 - 19:00

Job Role of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a growing food manufacturing business in Middlesbrough. Operating from a modern production facility, you'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently by carrying out reactive maintenance, fault finding and small engineering improvements across a range of manufacturing equipment.

This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys a varied workload. The role is heavily focused on breakdown response and problem solving rather than routine PPMs, making it well suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

You'll also support machinery installations, general engineering improvements and occasional site maintenance, working closely with production to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

• Multi-Skilled Maintenance experience.
• Engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent).

• Electrical fault finding (3-phase, motors, sensors and inverters).
• Motor wiring and testing.
• Mechanical maintenance including bearings, belts, chains and pneumatics.
• Reactive breakdown maintenance.
• Small machinery installations and modifications.

• Good communication and Health & Safety awareness.

Desirable Requirements of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Electrical bias.
