Job summary

MorePeople is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Engineer for a large-scale food manufacturing site in Lincolnshire. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, perform preventative maintenance, and support production uptime on a varied range of equipment.

The role requires hands-on problem solving and collaboration with the engineering team to reduce downtime and improve reliability. Based in Sleaford area, the role offers a £58k–£59k salary with an extensive benefits package and a real impact

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical fault-finding on production equipment.
• Experience in mechanical fault-finding on complex systems.
• Ability to fault-find across electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with PLC/inverter-controlled equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults to restore production.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and follow work orders.
• Work across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Record maintenance activity accurately in CMMS and report findings.

We're recruiting a Multi-Skilled Engineer for a large-scale site in Lincolnshire, easily commutable from Sleaford, Lincoln, Metheringham, North Hykeham and Grantham, part of a major, established food group with operations across the UK and Europe.

It’s a busy, high-output environment where engineering has a direct impact on production performance. The equipment is varied, the pace is real, and when something goes down, you’ll be expected to find the fault and get it moving again.

This isn’t a role for someone who wants every problem neatly diagnosed before it reaches them.

You’ll be hands-on across production equipment, supporting the wider engineering team to reduce downtime, improve reliability and stop repeat failures.

What the role involves

• Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and breakdown response
• Planned preventative maintenance and work orders
• Working across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Fault finding on PLC and inverter-controlled equipment
• Supporting production start-up and equipment availability
• Safe isolation, risk assessment and safe systems of work
• Root cause analysis and repeat failure reduction
• Supporting Lean, Asset Care and continuous improvement
• Working closely with Production to resolve issues quickly
• Accurate recording of maintenance activity through the site’s CMMS
