Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a hands-on role within a highly automated FMCG environment?
We're recruiting for a major UK food manufacturer in Grantham, where engineering plays a key role in keeping a high-output production operation running safely and efficiently.
You'll join an established engineering team working across automated production and packaging equipment, with responsibility for breakdown response, planned maintenance and improving equipment reliability.
4 on / 4 off | Rotating Days & Nights
Days: 07:00-19:00
Nights: 19:00-07:00
A structured shift pattern giving you significant time away from work while working within a busy, highly automated manufacturing environment.
This is a genuinely hands-on role covering both electrical and mechanical maintenance.
You'll be responsible for:
Electrical and mechanical fault finding
Responding to breakdowns and reducing downtime
Planned preventative maintenance
Fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery
Working with motors, drives, sensors and control systems
Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Root cause investigations and repeat-failure reduction
Working with production to improve equipment reliability and OEE
Maintaining high standards of engineering, food safety and site compliance
You'll be working in a fast-paced FMCG environment where equipment reliability has a direct impact on production.
You'll ideally be an experienced:
with a strong electrical and mechanical background.
You'll need experience with:
Industrial electrical fault finding
Mechanical maintenance
PLC-controlled machinery
Motors, drives and sensors
Pneumatics and hydraulics
Planned and reactive maintenance
Automated production or packaging equipment
Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, packaging, automated warehousing or another high-speed manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
An engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, ONC, BTEC or equivalent, together with an apprentice-trained background, would also be preferred.
