Job summary

Synergi Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer for a busy manufacturing site. You will handle fault finding, breakdowns, and maintenance across the site, contributing to reliability and continuous improvement.

The role involves responding to breakdowns, performing PPMs, and driving engineering standards to minimise downtime and support production in a modern manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Fault-finding and breakdown response; fault diagnosis and maintenance across site.
• Experience in manufacturing environments is desirable.
• Electrical bias is advantageous.

• Responding to breakdowns and minimising downtime.

We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy manufacturing site where engineering is seen as a key part of the operation, not just the department that gets called when things go wrong.

You’ll be involved in everything from fault finding and breakdowns through to planned maintenance and ongoing improvements across the site.

What you'll be doing

• Electrical and mechanical fault finding
• Responding to breakdowns and getting production back up and running
• Carrying out PPMs
• Working on machine reliability and continuous improvement projects
• Supporting production and minimising downtime
• Helping drive engineering standards across the site

What we're looking for

• Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent)
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Strong fault-finding skills
• Electrical bias would be advantageous
• Someone who enjoys getting stuck in and taking ownership of problems

Backgrounds we'll consider

We're keen to speak to engineers from food manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, pharmaceutical, process industries, heavy industry, general manufacturing and ex-forces engineering backgrounds.

Don't worry if you haven't worked in food before. We're more interested in the engineer than the industry. If you're good at fault finding and keeping equipment running, we'd like to hear from you.
