Job summary

Our client is a fast growing service-based company providing engineering support across the UK. The Multi Skilled Engineer role is split between visiting customer sites to repair and service machinery and performing repairs in the Biddenden workshop.

You will work Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:00 with an on-call rota 1 in 5 weeks, and a company van, fuel card, tools and equipment provided. Full driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an engineering background is essential with electrical and mechanical applications.
• Apprentice trained would be beneficial but not essential.
• Fault finding, repairs and rebuilding gearboxes is expected.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer sites to repair and service machinery on the road.
• Perform repairs and refurbish machinery in the Biddenden workshop.
• On-call rota for 1 in 5 weeks with retainer for OOH and callouts.

Job description

Our client is a fast growing, service-based company supporting the butchery, hospitality, packaging, processing, and medical sectors across the UK. They provide engineering support, servicing, breakdowns and equipment solutions for food-related operations.

The role is split between on the road visiting customer sites to repair and service their machinery, and in the Biddenden based workshop performing repairs and refurbishing machinery.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:00, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

A company van, fuel card, tools and equipment are provided.

Skills and experiences required of Multi Skilled Engineer

• Previous experience in an engineering background is essential with both electrical and mechanical applications. Apprentice trained would be beneficial but not essential.
• Basic mechanical experience required but not limited to:
  • Fault finding & repairs, replacing bearings & seals, rebuilding/fitting new gearboxes.
• Basic electrical experience required but not limited to:
  • Fault finding and repairs, reading of electrical drawings, safely isolate electrical systems, knowledge of single and three phase power.
• Experience with welding would be beneficial but not essential.
• Full Driving License

On call rota for 1 in 5 weeks (Either overnight stays or out of hours callouts - retainer paid for OOH + additional payment for any attended callouts. Overnight payment per night paid).
