Job summary

The JobsBoard is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer to work across customer sites in the UK and a Biddenden-based workshop. You will repair, service, and refurbish machinery, combining field work with workshop duties.

The role involves an early start, site visits, and hands-on maintenance, with on-call duties 1 in 5 weeks and overtime paid as applicable. A valid driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an engineering background is essential with both electrical and mechanical applications.
• Basic mechanical experience required: fault finding and repairs, bearings & seals, rebuilding/fitting gearboxes.
• Basic electrical experience required: fault finding, reading electrical drawings, isolating electrical systems, single and three phase power.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and refurbish machinery in the Biddenden workshop.

Job description

Our client is a fast growing, service-based company supporting the butchery, hospitality, packaging, processing, and medical sectors across the UK. They provide engineering support, servicing, breakdowns and equipment solutions for food-related operations.

The role is split between on the road visiting customer sites to repair and service their machinery, and in the Biddenden based workshop performing repairs and refurbishing machinery.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:00-16:00, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

A company van, fuel card, tools and equipment are provided.

Skills and experiences required of Multi Skilled Engineer

• Previous experience in an engineering background is essential with both electrical and mechanical applications. Apprentice trained would be beneficial but not essential.
• Basic mechanical experience required but not limited to: fault finding & repairs, replacing bearings & seals, rebuilding/fitting new gearboxes.
• Basic electrical experience required but not limited to: fault finding and repairs, reading of electrical drawings, safely isolate electrical systems, knowledge of single and three phase power.
• Experience with welding would be beneficial but not essential.
• Full Driving License

On call rota for 1 in 5 weeks (either overnight stays or out of hours callouts - retainer paid for OOH plus additional payment for any attended callouts. Overnight payment per night paid).
