Job summary

Trapeze Recruitment Services Ltd in the UK seeks a Multi Skilled Engineer to visit customer sites for repair and service, and to work in a Biddenden workshop for refurbishments.

The role requires electrical and mechanical experience, with a full driving license and flexibility for on-call duties (1 in 5 weeks). Training opportunities and progression are available within a growing service-based operation.

Qualifications

• Engineering background essential with electrical and mechanical applications.
• Apprentice training would be beneficial but not essential.
• Fault finding and repairs, reading electrical drawings, and safe isolation of electrical systems.

Job description

Our client is a fast growing, service-based company supporting the butchery, hospitality, packaging, processing, and medical sectors across the UK. They provide engineering support, servicing, breakdowns and equipment solutions for food-related operations.

The role is split between on the road visiting customer sites to repair and service their machinery, and in the Biddenden based workshop performing repairs and refurbishing machinery.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

• On call rota for 1 in 5 weeks (Either overnight stays or out of hours callouts - retainer paid for OOH + additional payment for any attended callouts. Overnight payment per night paid).

Skills and experiences required of Multi Skilled Engineer

• Previous experience in an engineering background is essential with both electrical and mechanical applications. Apprentice trained would be beneficial but not essential.
• Basic mechanical experience required but not limited to:
  • Fault finding & repairs, replacing bearings & seals, rebuilding/fitting new gearboxes.
• Basic electrical experience required but not limited to:
  • Fault finding and repairs, reading of electrical drawings, safely isolate electrical systems, knowledge of single and three phase power.
• Experience with welding would be beneficial but not essential.
• Full Driving License
