Job summary

Vertu FM is seeking a Multi-Skilled Electrician to join our facilities team in Biggleswade. You will maintain and repair electrical systems across depot sites, with a strong emphasis on planned and reactive maintenance and safe electrical work.

You will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week, with a company van provided and occasional cover at Thurrock depot. Familiarity with UK electrical standards and the ability to operate independently are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent is required.
• 17th or 18th Edition qualification is required.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Experience carrying out electrical maintenance in commercial/industrial environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across depot sites.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems, building services, plant and equipment.
• Respond to service calls and complete repairs within agreed timescales.
• Carry out electrical fault finding, minor installations and alterations.
• Complete testing and certification following electrical works.
• Undertake general building maintenance and minor fabric repairs as required.
• Support depots by resolving maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.

Multi-Skilled Electrician

Biggleswade Permanent, Full Time Salary £41,316 including standby allowance + Van + Excellent Package

We are working with a growing and highly reputable facilities management contractor with established and stable contracts nationwide.

They are looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Electrician to work primarily across two depot sites in Biggleswade, with occasional cover at the Thurrock depot when required.

This is a varied building maintenance role covering both planned and reactive works across the depot sites, with a strong electrical focus alongside general building maintenance duties.

The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across the depot sites.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems, building services, plant and equipment.
• Respond to service calls and complete repairs within agreed timescales.
• Carry out electrical fault finding, minor installations and alterations.
• Complete relevant testing and certification following electrical works.
• Undertake general building maintenance and minor fabric repairs where required.
• Identify non-repairable faults and report recommendations for replacement or further works.
• Support the smooth running of the depots by resolving maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.
• Liaise with site management, contractors and project teams regarding repairs, alterations and improvement works.
• Assist with the supervision and coordination of third-party contractors where required.
• Complete PPM records, job reports, timesheets and associated paperwork accurately.
• Support and provide guidance to other engineers and technicians where required.
• Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with company procedures and agreed KPIs.

The Person

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 17th or 18th Edition qualification.
• Previous experience carrying out electrical maintenance within commercial or industrial environments.
• Strong experience across both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Good electrical fault-finding and repair skills.
• Comfortable carrying out some general building maintenance alongside electrical duties.
• Able to work independently and respond effectively to urgent maintenance issues.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Flexible to provide occasional cover at the Thurrock depot.
