Job summary

Vertu FM is seeking an experienced Mobile Maintenance Electrician to service a major retail contract across the Midlands and South. The role involves planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a portfolio of retail sites with travel across the region.

You will carry out electrical installations, diagnose faults, and support with minor building maintenance. A 17th/18th Edition and Level 3 qualification are required, along with a full UK driving licence and strong IT skills.

Qualifications

• Electrical Level 3 qualification or recognised equivalent.
• 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Ideally City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection or equivalent.
• Experience in electrical maintenance within commercial/retail environments.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
• Experience with basic fire alarm maintenance/testing.
• General building maintenance/fabric repair experience advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence; good communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across retail sites.
• Complete electrical installations, alterations and minor works.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs safely and efficiently.
• Support with minor building/fabric maintenance as required.
• Travel between customer sites within the region; maintain accurate electronic records.
• Deliver excellent customer service while on site; participate in the callout rota.
• Carry out basic fire alarm maintenance and tests as required.

Our client is a highly reputable and well-established facilities management contractor providing comprehensive building maintenance services across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Mobile Maintenance Electrician to support a major retail contract across the Midlands and South.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a portfolio of retail sites.

Key duties will include:

• Completing electrical planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Carrying out electrical installations, alterations and minor works.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs safely and efficiently.
• Supporting with minor general building and fabric maintenance where required.
• Travelling between customer sites throughout the designated region.
• Maintaining accurate job records and completing paperwork electronically.
• Delivering excellent customer service while representing the business on site.
• Participating in the callout rota.
• Carry out basic fire alarm maintenance, testing and associated remedial works where required.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold an Electrical Level 3 qualification or recognised equivalent.
• Hold the 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Ideally hold City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection or an equivalent qualification.
• Have experience completing electrical maintenance within commercial or retail environments.
• Have experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
• Have some experience carrying out basic fire alarm maintenance, testing or fault finding.
• Ideally have some general building maintenance or fabric repair experience.
• Be comfortable travelling throughout the designated region and occasionally further afield.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Have good communication and IT skills.
