Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Area Support Officer to provide flexible security cover across multiple client locations. You will monitor site activity, conduct patrols, maintain records, and respond to incidents while supporting operational continuity through deployment to designated sites.

The ideal candidate will have a valid SIA licence, UK driving licence and the ability to work across sites. You will demonstrate strong communication, vigilance, and a professional presentation at all times.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK is required and BS7858 vetting may be needed.
• Valid SIA licence is required.
• UK driving licence and own vehicle preferred.
• Good computer literacy and ability to operate security systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and vigilance in busy environments.
• Professional presentation at all times.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional security cover across multiple client sites, ensuring consistent service delivery.
• Conduct regular site patrols and inspections per site procedures.
• Monitor premises visually and via CCTV, respond to alarms and incidents.
• Record vehicle movements, visitor access, contractor attendance, and site activities.
• Maintain logs and daily occurrence records with accuracy.
• Report suspicious behaviour, security breaches or concerns promptly.
• Ensure access control procedures follow site requirements and security protocols.
• Maintain security records, incident reports, and operational documentation.
• Complete duties per assignment instructions and client policies.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies and management plans.
• Provide flexible support across locations and deployments.
• Cover annual leave, sickness, and other staffing shortfalls as required.
• Demonstrate flexibility in work patterns and shifts.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain client relationships.
• Present a professional image as an ambassador for OCS and the client.
