Job summary

Anchor Group Services is recruiting a Relief Security Officer to join our team in Chatham. You will perform patrols, monitor activity, and respond to incidents to maintain a safe environment across multiple sites.

The role is zero hours with day and night flexibility. A valid SIA DS licence and driving licence are essential; CCTV licence preferred. Uniform provided and training opportunities through Anchor Academy.

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services, for an experienced security officer to join our established security team in Chatham as a Relief Security Officer. As Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for conducting regular patrols, monitoring activity to ensure a safe and secure environment for all visitors and staff. You will respond promptly to incidents, liaise professionally with colleagues, visitors and site management, and maintain accurate records in line with operational procedures. A strong presence, attention to detail, and commitment to upholding site security standards are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate flexibility with working hours and possess the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

You will be required to support the site security teams at Ceva Chatham and Chatham Docks by being flexible and reliable to cover shifts as required, this will include working a variety of days and nights.

The successful candidate must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) Licence as a minimum. A CCTV Licence is desirable but not essential. A valid UK driving licence is also required.

Duties include:

• Protecting the client’s property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and site-specific procedures
• Preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing offenders of policy and procedures
• Preventing and escalating incidents in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner to the Control Room/ Shift Manager/Operations Manager/Emergency Services as appropriate for serious incidents
• Operating and monitoring site CCTV equipment
• Completing reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities
• Maintaining organisation's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Acting as a first line support to customers and visitors to site, providing a professional and friendly service
• Understanding the needs of our customer, respond accordingly to customer queries and requests and take appropriate action
• Maintaining professional conduct at all times

Requirements

• Essential: Valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) licence
• Essential: Valid UK Driving Licence
• Preferred: Valid CCTV Licence
• Full 5-year employment checkable history
• Customer service experience and confidence to handle conflict in a correct manner
• Flexible to meet the job requirements
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
