  • Maintain a visible high‑profile presence to protect the area, people, goods and property.
  • Identify and report suspicious activity, security concerns and environmental hazards.
  • Liaise effectively with BID representatives, clients, and local businesses.
  • Refer vulnerable people to appropriate agencies and conduct morning & evening counts of rough sleepers.
  • Manage and process lost property in accordance with procedures.
  • Report environmental issues including waste, fly‑tipping, graffiti, water leaks, broken traffic lights and damaged street furniture.
  • Deal with pedicabs.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to requests for assistance from local businesses and stakeholders.
  • Carry out regular patrols across the BID area to monitor activity and provide a reassuring presence.
  • Accurately record incidents, patrols and daily activities using electronic reporting systems.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents and requests for support.
  • Investigate and respond to reports of theft in collaboration with businesses and authorities.
  • Monitor, record and report incidents of antisocial behaviour and organised begging.
  • Work collaboratively with the Police and other partner agencies to support crime prevention and community safety initiatives.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication with customers, contractors, visitors and the public.
  • Assist with any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as requested by the BID.
