Job summary

Well Pharmacy is seeking an Area Operations Manager to oversee 15–20 pharmacies across Salford, Greater Manchester and Merseyside. You will build high-performing teams, drive KPIs, and ensure patient safety while delivering excellent community pharmacy service.

You will report to the Senior/Regional Operations Manager and travel between sites, maintaining high standards and strong relationships with local healthcare partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in field or multi-site management (BAU, cross-regional or project-based).
• Understanding of the pharmacy market and profession (desirable).
• Strong commercial and analytical skills.
• Effective coaching and feedback capability.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to manage priorities.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Visit each pharmacy at least every two weeks and set SMART actions to drive performance.
• Support Delivering Well strategy aligning pharmacy activity with corporate objectives.
• Drive prescription growth, service delivery and OTC sales in line with budget.
• Ensure compliance with all operational processes and procedures.
• Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities to grow market share.
• Ensure NHS quality standards, patient safety and NHS/private services delivery.
• Recruit, develop and retain capable teams; coach and provide formal reviews.
• Communicate priorities clearly and develop talent for succession.
