Job summary

Bidwells is seeking a proactive Facilities Manager to lead FM across a portfolio of laboratory, office and mixed‑use buildings in Cambridge. You will manage contractors, ensure high service standards and oversee service charge budgeting within a complex, multi‑tenant environment.

You’ll work with stakeholders across property and project teams, driving compliance, efficiency and sustainable operations in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• Extensive facilities management experience in a multi-site environment.
• NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
• Understanding of leases and landlord/tenant relationships.
• Experience with service charge budgeting.
• Direct management of staff or third-party contractors.
• Proficient with MS Office and CAFM systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Numerate with attention to detail.
• Pro‑active problem solving and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Deliver facilities management services across multi-let and vacant buildings.
• Manage contractors, service partners and suppliers to high standards.
• Monitor service charges, budgets and expenditure.
• Oversee building services including M&E, utilities and cleaning.
• Ensure health & safety, statutory and lease compliance.
• Conduct regular building inspections and manage risk records.
• Support sustainability initiatives to improve environmental performance.
• Act as a key contact for occupiers and manage move-ins/outs.
• Collaborate with internal teams on projects and improvements.
• Provide regular updates on facilities performance and activities.
