Job summary

Bidwells is seeking a proactive Facilities Manager to join the Cambridge Science Park team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of laboratory, office and mixed-use buildings, ensuring high service standards across multiple tenants.

The role covers operations, safety, sustainability and financial oversight, including budgeting and expenditure control. You will work with property managers, asset managers and contractors to deliver improvements and maintain a safe, well-maintained estate.

Qualifications

• Extensive FM experience in a multi-site high-profile environment.
• NEBOSH or IOSH health & safety qualification.
• Understanding of commercial leases and landlord/tenant relations.
• Experience with service charge budgeting and accounting.
• Direct management of staff/suppliers with KPI monitoring.
• Proficient in MS Office and CAFM systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Numerate with high attention to detail.
• Pro-active, problem-solving, team player.
• Experience in tendering and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver FM services across a portfolio of multi-let and vacant buildings.
• Manage contractors, service partners and key suppliers.
• Monitor service charges, budgets and expenditure.
• Oversee M&E, utilities, cleaning and maintenance.
• Ensure health & safety, statutory and lease obligations.
• Conduct regular building inspections and manage risk.
• Support sustainability initiatives to improve environmental performance.
• Act as a key contact for occupiers and move-ins/outs.
• Collaborate with internal teams on projects and improvements.
• Provide updates on facilities performance and compliance.
