Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Canterbury is seeking a skilled automotive technician to join a long-established Kent dealer group. You’ll work in a modern workshop on cars and LCVs, with a clear path to Master Technician status and dedicated DVSA and EV/Hybrid certifications.

Base salary £32,000–£42,000 with achievable £50,000+ OTE, plus overtime; Monday–Friday 08:00–17:30 and a 1-in-3 Saturday rota; full manufacturer academy training and comprehensive tool insurance; strong culture and job security.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• Experience working on both cars and vans (LCVs) is desirable; open to expanding skills.
• Willing to gain MOT tester licence or EV/Hybrid certifications through our academy.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, scheduled maintenance and vehicle health checks to manufacturer standards across cars and LCVs.
• Performing routine diagnostics, safety checks, and high‑voltage repairs on Electric & Hybrid systems.
• Utilising dealer‑level diagnostic suites to fault‑find and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Completing right‑first‑time repairs while maintaining clean bay standards and accurate job logs.
• Collaborating closely with service advisors and workshop controllers to ensure smooth turnaround.
