Job description

Overview

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. Orion is partnered with a fast-paced manufacturing company located in Coventry. We are recruiting a methodical and experienced mechanically biased maintenance engineer.

The ideal candidate will be mechanically biased (80% of issues on site are mechanical). We are looking for someone driven and ambitious to help drive the company towards manufacturing excellence.

Shifts

• Week 1 7am – 3pm
• Week 2 3pm – 11pm
• Week 3 11pm – 7am

Responsibilities

• Reactive maintenance of manufacturing machinery including boilers, steam pumps, conveyors, extractors, etc.
• Mechanical maintenance 80% / electrical maintenance 20%
• PPMs (planned preventative maintenance)
• Line improvement tasks
• Fault finding using PLCs
• Read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics
• Provide and implement solutions in line with the engineering strategy to reduce downtime
• Use root cause analysis to identify underlying problems and drive improvements in plant performance
• Continually drive towards a PPM culture
• Assist in setting up machines in conjunction with the operations team
• Provide a first-class engineering service

Required Experience

• Mechanical qualifications from a recognised body
• NVQ Level 3 or BTEC L3 or equivalent
• Electrical fault-finding skills
• PLC experience
• Machinery maintenance (PPMs and reactive)
• Both mechanical & electrical machinery maintenance
• FMCG background
• Continuous improvement projects
