Job summary

SMT GB is seeking an MPC Engineer to join our Immingham team. You will prepare, inspect, and commission Volvo Construction Equipment machines to high safety and quality standards, ensuring readiness for delivery while supporting continuous improvement.

The role requires experience with heavy plant equipment, a solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems, and a flexible approach to training and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience with repairing, maintaining or preparing heavy plant equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Good communication, organisation and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections, machine preparation and commissioning.
• Complete inspections, software updates, documentation and PDA inputs to meet OEM requirements.
• Identify defects or additional work needs and report to resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in line with health and safety procedures.
• Support colleagues and mentor trainees where needed and attend training.
