Job summary

The Cadillac Formula 1 Team is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our elite motorsport group in the United Kingdom. You will design mechanical assemblies, own projects end-to-end, and ensure production-ready information on materials, techniques and quality.

You will guide Graduate Designers and work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment. Applicants should have F1 or top-tier motorsport experience, a degree in Engineering, and proficiency in CATIA 3DX.

Qualifications

• Experience in Formula 1 or top-tier motorsport essential.
• Design experience for chassis, suspensions, brake ducts, and hydraulics in motorsport.
• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Proficient in CAD, CATIA 3DX, with a track record of accurate designs.
• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing, materials, and analysis.
• Clear and concise communication via email and verbally.
• Ability to prioritise under time pressure and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and innovative, able to work independently.
• Strong IT skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

• Design layouts and schemes for mechanical assemblies and parts.
• Take ownership of projects and highlight risks and opportunities to the Lead Mechanical Designer.
• Provide complete information for production processes, including materials, techniques and quality requirements.
• Support the design group to meet performance and delivery targets.
• Provide guidance to Graduate Mechanical Designers to ensure best design practice.
